Job summary

Concord Hospital in New Hampshire seeks an ED Tech II to support the emergency department team with direct and indirect patient care under RN supervision. You will help with patient comfort, environmental and supply tasks, and collaborate closely with the nurse manager and charge/tech staff on shift.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, BLS, EMT-Advanced and EMT-Basic certifications, and prior patient care experience.

Responsibilities

• Respond to requests for patient care assistance as delegated by the RN.

• Serve as a preceptor for new employees.

Summary

The ED Tech II provides direct and indirect patient care duties under the guidance and direction of the Registered Nurse. Responsible for patient support, environmental and supply management functions, as part of the patient care team. The ED Tech II reports to the Nurse Manager with daily shift supervision by the Chief Tech and Charge Nurse.

Education

High school or equivalent (GED).

Certification, Registration & Licensure

• Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Emergency Medical Technician Advanced (EMT-Advanced).
• Emergency Medical Technician Basic (EMT-Basic).

Experience

Previous direct patient care experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains skill lev e l to p erform patient care tasks, to include, intravenous catheter insertion and medication administration, as de l egated by the RN.
• Maintains skill level to administer medications as delegated by the RN.

• Performs job specific requirements and other duties as assigned.
• Serves as a preceptor for new employees.
