Job summary

Fairview Health Services is seeking an Emergency Department Technician (EDT) to join the Woodwinds Hospital ED in Woodbury, MN. This 0.75 FTE position features 12‑hour evening shifts from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

with an every‑third‑weekend rotation, serving a busy eastern Twin Cities metro ED that cares for patients of all ages. The EDT supports nurses with patient care, transports patients and specimens, assists with ambulation, and helps maintain room readiness and equipment, while upholding

Qualifications

• EMT/ERT certification or equivalent required.
• CNA credential on Minnesota Registry is required.
• LPN licensure or active enrollment in an RN/NP pathway is needed.
• At least one clinical semester completed in nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients by wheelchair and cart.
• Assists patients with ambulation and positioning.
• Informs RN of patient/family observations and concerns.
• Responds to patient call lights and requests promptly.
• Maintains patient dignity, privacy, and confidentiality.
• Assists in resuscitation and acts as nurse extender.
• Documents care activities clearly on nursing records.
• Maintains room, supplies, and completes checklists.
• Performs quality control checks on equipment and reports issues.
