Albany Medical Center is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to support nurses and physicians in a busy ED setting. The role involves assisting with resuscitation, performing venipuncture, obtaining vital signs, and supporting cardiac monitoring and wound care.

The successful candidate will have a High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 months to 1 year of ED tech or EMS experience. Strong communication and reliability are essential in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months to 1-year previous experience as a ED Technician and/or EMS experience is desired.
• Honest, punctual, and performs the job in adherence to the highest standards of ethical conduct as defined by AMC.
• Ability to communicate cooperatively and effectively with patients, family members, employees and others.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, use of hands for various job functions, and occasionally required to sit, kneel, or crouch.

Aufgaben

• Assists with resuscitation / CPR and emergency airway procedures.
• Performs venipuncture to obtain blood specimens.
• Assists physicians and nurses providing technical support for patient care.
• Reports on the condition of the patient to the appropriate supervisor/staff member.
• Assists with the transport of patients to other departments.
• Assists with obtaining and documentation of vital signs, cardiac monitoring, and non-invasive blood pressure monitoring systems.
• Obtains 12-lead EKGs, discontinues peripheral IV and heparin/saline locks.
• Assist with wound care, insertion of Foley catheters, and nasogastric tubes.
• Assists with positioning patients, application of orthopedic splints and dressings.
• Measure and fit crutches and canes and instruct patients on proper use.
