Sentara Norfolk General Hospital Emergency Department seeks an Emergency Department Technician to assist clinicians in delivering emergency care. You will support physicians and nurses, perform procedures under supervision, and complete required training within the specified timelines.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, current EMT-B certification or equivalent, and prior clinical experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (Required).
• EMT-B with state or national certification at time of hire OR completion of US Military Hospital Corps School or MMAC candidates OR current student in a clinical program with at least one semester completed.
• Previous clinical experience (Required).

Responsabilités

Overview

Sentara Health is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as an Emergency Department Technician. Assists the Physician, Advanced Practitioner, or Nurse in implementing plans of care for emergency/minor emergency care patients. Performs patient procedures and treatments under the supervision of the Physician, Advanced Practitioner, or Nurse. De-escalation and physical intervention training within 15 days of hire. BLS certification within 90 days of hire for all incumbents.

High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)

Certifications/Licensure

• EMT-B with state or national certification at time of hire OR
• Successful completion of US Military Hospital Corps School, qualified MMAC candidates OR
• Current student enrolled in clinical program (e.g., RN, LPN, Respiratory, Physical Therapy) having completed at least one semester within the program.

Candidates with prior employment in the Sentara ED Tech job code in the past two years will also be considered in lieu of the 3 criteria above.

Compensation

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $20.07 - $29.88 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
