Job summary

Silver Cross Hospital in Homer Glen is seeking a compassionate CNA or EMT-B to support the nursing process under the direction of a Registered Nurse. You will obtain patient data for registration for outpatient, free-standing emergency department and inpatient populations.

• Assist in procedures, code response and room preparation for incoming patients.
• Stocking and patient transport.
• Keep charge nurse informed of delays with patient care.
• Facilitate calls to medical staff.
• Facilitate patient transfer with ED care team.

Position Summary

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Vital signs
• Assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• 12-lead EKGs

• Splint application, wound care
• Assist in procedures, code response and room preparation for incoming patients
• Stocking and patient transport
• Keeps charge Nurse aware of delays with patient care
• Facilitating calls to medical staff
• Facilitates patient transfer in collaboration with ED care team
• Acknowledges and incorporates - the importance of culture, the assessment of cross-cultural relations, and vigilance towards the dynamics that result from cultural differences, the expansion of cultural knowledge, and the adaptation of services to meet culturally unique needs.
• Promotes a clean and safe environment of care, utilizing the SAFE error prevention habits
• Provides the highest standard of privacy and confidentiality in matters involving patients, coworkers, and the hospital by abiding by the Standards of Conduct

Required Qualifications

• Education and Training: Currently certified by the state of Illinois as a CNA or EMT-B license.
• Current CPR.

Pay

The expected pay for this position is listed below: $18.65 - $22.85. The final pay rate offered may be more than the posted range based on several factors including but not limited to: licensure, certifications, work experience, education, knowledge, demonstrated abilities, internal equity, market data, and more.
