Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health Harbour View is seeking an ED Tech to provide direct patient care under RN guidance in a fast-paced emergency department.

The role includes assisting with care tasks, bedside monitoring, labs, EKGs, wound care, documentation, handoffs, safety, and exceptional customer service, with a focus on quality and compassion. CPR and Basic Life Support readiness are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• CPR certification or equivalent is expected; BLS preferred at hire.
• Experience in patient care or healthcare support roles is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care and tasks including comfort, vital signs, hygiene, mobility assistance, lab draws, ECGs and wound care under RN guidance.
• Completes patient rounding and 1:1 safety companion duties.
• Documents care accurately and participates in handoffs and shift reports.
• Performs delegated tasks after competency validation and collects data as needed.
• Promotes quality and safety by improving processes and patient care delivery.
