Job summary

CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital in New Braunfels, TX, is seeking an Emergency Department Technician. You will assist with admissions, discharges, and patient care under RN supervision, while handling registrar duties and basic phlebotomy or monitoring tasks as trained.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and completion of one of the listed programs or CHRISTUS experience. Per diem, 7 AM–7 PM shifts, with a focus on patient safety and efficient ED operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Complete one of the listed educational programs or CHRISTUS Emergency Technician experience is required.
• 1-2 years of patient care experience in acute care settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Others, or Leaders.
• Assists with admission, transfer, and discharges of patients.
• Observe patient status changes and report to the RN as trained.
• Escort stable patients to other departments as required.
• Maintain stock and equipment, and support department operations.
• Perform venipuncture, dressing changes, crutch training, and other procedures as trained.
• Assist with ED procedures setup and RN assistance.
• Operate monitoring equipment, record rhythm strips, EKGs, and glucometer readings.
• Perform phlebotomy and collect laboratory specimens under RN direction.
• Adhere to CORE CHRISTUS Health values and perform other duties as assigned.
• Serve as Patient Registrar greeting patients and collecting demographic/insurance information.
