Job summary

Dartmouth Health seeks an ED Technician to provide patient care and operational support in the Emergency Department. You will work within a multidisciplinary team and prioritize multiple tasks under the supervision of the nurse manager.

Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, vital signs, EKGs, specimen collection, and EMR documentation, while maintaining safety, cleanliness, and efficient flow in a busy ED setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent communication skills in a multidisciplinary, chaotic environment.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service and keyboarding skills.
• National Registered EMT with NH license or NH Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) required.
• Either EMT or LNA required, not both.
• Basic Life Support (current) required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care activities under RN/Paramedic supervision, including ADLs and vital signs.
• Apply splints and immobilizers, remove IVs after competencies.
• Maintain clean, safe environment; restock rooms and equipment.
• Assist visitors, volunteers, and family; mentor new coworkers.
• Monitor patients requiring close observation and manage communications.
