Job summary

St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, Maine is hiring an Emergency Department Technician II to join our patient-focused ED team. This role provides hands-on patient care and administrative support in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate is compassionate, detail-oriented, and able to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, BLS, and relevant certifications or licenses.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Medical Assistant certification from an approved organization or a Maine Advanced EMT or Paramedic license.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Strong computer, communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.

Responsibilities

Assist with patient examinations, treatments, admissions, and discharges.
Obtain and document vital signs, perform EKGs, phlebotomy, specimen collection, ear irrigation, and IV saline lock insertion.
Administer approved medications and treatments within scope.
Monitor patients and report changes to clinical staff.
Maintain patient safety and confidentiality; assist with searches, seclusion, or restraints under RN direction.
