Job summary

Froedtert Health is seeking an Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) for the Froedtert West Bend Hospital campus in Wisconsin. This on-site role is a 0.9 FTE position, primarily shift 3 (Sun, Mon, Thu) from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM with holiday rotations.

The ED Tech supports basic nursing tasks under RN supervision in the Emergency and Trauma Center. Qualifications include a minimum of 1 year as a CNA, MA, or EMT, a high school diploma, and appropriate Wisconsin licensure or certification (BLS).

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as CNA, Medical Assistant, or EMT required.
• EMT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with routine duties and basic nursing procedures.
• Ensure patient care, comfort and safety in the Emergency/Trauma Center.
• Under RN supervision, support patient care activities during third shift.

Job Summary

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) performs routine service duties and basic nursing procedures necessary to provide for care, comfort, and safety of patients in the Emergency and Trauma Center.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: A minimum of 1 year of previous experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Medical Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician is required.

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: A Minimum of 1 years of EMT experience is preferred.

EDUCATION REQUIRED: High School diploma or equivalent is required. Incumbents employed with Froedtert Health hired prior to October 1, 2007 may substitute this educational requirement with the following statement - Ability to read, write and communicate complicated verbal and written communications at a level normally acquired through completion of a high school education.

LICENSURE REQUIRED: State of Wisconsin Emergency Medical Technician License, certified Medical Assistant (in lieu of Medical Assistant Certification, 3 years of experience required), or State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification is required. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required to be completed within 30 days.
