Job summary

Froedtert Health in West Bend, WI is seeking an Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) to support the ED and Trauma Center under RN supervision. This on-site role operates on a third shift (Sun, Mon, Thurs) with 36 hours per week.

Requirements include a minimum of 1 year as CNA/Medical Assistant/EMT, a State of Wisconsin EMT license, Medical Assistant Certification or Nursing Assistant Certification, a High School diploma, and BLS certification. We offer PTO, career growth, and benefits.

Qualifications

• State of Wisconsin EMT license, Medical Assistant Certification or Nursing Assistant Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Under RN supervision, perform routine duties and basic nursing procedures for patient care, comfort, and safety.
• Provide care and support in the Emergency and Trauma Center as needed by the ED team.
• Assist with shift tasks and ensure compliance with licensure and training requirements.
• Maintain readiness for continuous patient care during third shift operations.

Job Summary:

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) performs routine service duties and basic nursing procedures necessary to provide for care, comfort, and safety of patients in the Emergency and Trauma Center.

Other information:

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: A minimum of 1 year of previous experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Medical Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician is required.

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: A Minimum of 1 years of EMT experience is preferred.

EDUCATION REQUIRED: High School diploma or equivalent is required. Incumbents employed with Froedtert Health hired prior to October 1, 2007 may substitute this educational requirement with the following statement - Ability to read, write and communicate complicated verbal and written communications at a level normally acquired through completion of a high school education.

American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required to be completed within 30 days.
