Job summary

Mercy Medical Center Redding is seeking an ED Tech to assist in the Emergency Department alongside Registered Nurses, ensuring accurate and timely medical interventions while maintaining efficient department operations. You will collect data, document thoroughly, and perform 12-lead EKGs under cardiology policy.

A minimum of one year EMS experience or EMT qualification is required, with CA EMT licensing and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one year EMS provider experience or EMT eligibility.
• CA EMT license required.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) required by American Heart Association.
• Strong computer skills and ability to document accurately.

Responsibilities

• Completes documentation on unit and patient records timely and accurately.
• Collects patient data including vital signs and intake/output.
• Demonstrates appropriate response to respiratory/cardiac arrest per guidelines.
• Participates in staff development and trainee orientation.
• Performs EMT and other clinical duties per hospital policy.
• Performs 12-lead EKGs per cardiology policy.
