Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an ED Technician for RWJ Hamilton in Hamilton, NJ. This per diem, day shift position supports the Emergency Department by assisting patients with daily living activities and providing basic nursing care under supervision.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and BLS certification; CNA experience is preferred. Duties include phlebotomy and EKGs, with collaboration to ensure safe, timely patient care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BLS required (American Heart Association).
• Preferred CNA or clinical nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• The ED Technician is a direct patient caregiver who assists patients with activities of daily living and provides nursing care to patients including phlebotomy and EKGs.
• Providing patient care based on physical, education, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients in assigned service.
• Ongoing communication with patients and nursing colleagues regarding status of patient's care.
• Participating in collaboration of our patient's plan of care from admission to discharge to ensure safe transitioning.
