Job summary

Tucson Medical Center is seeking a Part-time Emergency Department Technician for day shifts in Tucson, AZ. You will support RNs and physicians, perform EKGs, vital signs, specimen collection, IV work, and assist with minor procedures within your training scope.

Under supervision, you’ll document care, monitor patients, and help coordinate care with nursing and ancillary staff. Certification in BLS and EMT is required, with crisis management training completed within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• BLS and EMT certifications required; Crisis Management within six months of hire.
• Ability to work under supervision and learn procedures quickly.

Responsibilities

• Perform ECG testing, vital signs, specimen collection, and transport stable telemetry patients.
• Assist with glucose testing, venipuncture, IV care, and monitor lead application.
• Set up exam areas, aid with minor procedures, and manage basic patient comfort.
• Document procedures and vitals in patient records and communicate changes to providers.
• Maintain supply levels and support department operations and training of new staff.
