Job summary

Penn Medicine's HUP Pavilion Emergency Department is seeking a full-time Emergency Department Technician to join a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team. Working 7a-7p on a three 12-hour shift with every third weekend, you will assist in patient assessments, documentation, and routine nursing tasks under RN supervision.

You will aid with vital signs, monitoring, activities of daily living, and infection control, while supporting patient safety and comfort in a high-acuity environment.

Qualifications

• EMT, CNA, or matriculating nursing student required.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• HS diploma or GED required.
• Previous ED experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patient condition and assist in nursing care under RN supervision.
• Document findings, interventions and patient outcome on appropriate forms and Penn Chart.
• Monitor vital signs and patient status; communicate changes to the nurse.
• Assist with activities of daily living and patient comfort.
• Maintain infection control practices and safety precautions.
• Participate in rounds and care coordination with the healthcare team.
• Transport patients and equipment as needed within the ED.
