Job summary

Carolinas Medical Center is seeking a dedicated RN for the Emergency Department. The role requires 1 year of ED experience and current RN licensure with applicable state privileges.

Certifications in ACLS, PALS, BLS, NRP, and CPI are expected, with the ability to work 7p–7a on a 36-hour weekly schedule. Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, coordination with the care team, and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active RN license with privileges to practice in the state(s) served.
• ACLS, PALS, BLS, NRP, CPI certifications required or as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Engage in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives to improve care and apply evidence-based practices.
• Use nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement and evaluate care with patient/family involvement.
• Monitor patient conditions, adjust care plans, mobilize resources, and collaborate with the care team.
• Uphold a culture of safety and continuously evaluate outcomes to take action as needed.
• May administer medications and therapies per clinical protocols and procedures.
• Maintain accurate, timely EHR documentation and professional development.
