Job summary

CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital – San Marcos, part of CHRISTUS Health, seeks a registered nurse to provide high-quality care in a 6PM–6AM shift. The nurse will perform assessments, administer medications, educate patients and families, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Ideal candidates have a BSN, RN licensure in Texas (or compact), and BLS/ACLS/PALS/TNCC certifications with at least 1 year in a related nursing specialty.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required/maintained.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the OneCHRISTUS competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administers medications and treatments and monitors for side-effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided.
• Educates patients, families, and caregivers and identifies learning needs.
