Job summary

Reston Hospital Center in Reston, VA is seeking a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department to coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with the care team and medical providers. The RN will follow established nursing models, advocate for patients and families, and teach patients about conditions, treatment plans, and follow-up.

Required qualifications include RN license, Associate Degree, night shift availability, and ED experience preferred; ACLS/BLS/PALS

Qualifications

• ACLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• BCLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• PALS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• RN – Registered Nurse
• Associate Degree required
• Night Shift
• Prefer RN with at least 1 year of ED experience

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with department standards and practice
• Assess and manage patient pain, document care in medical record
• Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs
• Educate patients/families/caregivers about condition, treatment plan, medications and follow-up
• Prepare patients for future self-management and provide lifestyle guidance
