Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Staff Nurse (RN) in a collective bargaining unit position in Ohio. You will provide initial assessment and ongoing monitoring for a group of complex patients, demonstrate clinical leadership, and coordinate care across the care team.

Precepting new staff and maintaining essential certifications are part of the role. The position requires Ohio RN licensure, hospital orientation completion, and ongoing CE hours.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a state-accredited school of nursing.
• Current licensure from the state of Ohio as an RN.
• Successful completion of general and unit-specific orientation and hospital probationary period.
• Obtains/maintains a minimum of 12 contact hours of continuing education annually which includes Fire Safety and BLS/CPR Recertification.
• Must communicate well verbally and in writing with people of varying backgrounds.
• ACLS certification within 6 months of assignment to the ER and maintain certification.
• Obtains/maintains BLS/CPR recertification.
• Neonatal and Pediatric Life Support are strongly encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Assumes responsibility for caring for a group of complex patients with initial assessment and ongoing monitoring of their condition.
• Demonstrates nursing leadership and coordinates nursing care for a specific patient group.
• Precepts new employees as assigned.
• Demonstrates competency in essential equipment used in patient care.
• Reports to Nurse Manager or Administrative Supervisor; supervises licensed practical nurses and patient care assistants.
