Job summary

Shenandoah Medical Center in Iowa is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver comprehensive patient care across acute, observation, ER, SNF and outpatient settings. The role centers on using the nursing process to assess, plan, intervene and evaluate patient outcomes, while prioritizing safety and quality care.

The successful candidate will respond promptly to call lights, advocate for patients, educate families, and collaborate with the care team to coordinate medical management and discharge

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or better in Nursing or related field.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process for patient care to assess, plan, intervene and evaluate outcomes.
• Performs comprehensive nursing assessments and admission assessments.
• Responds to call lights and patient needs promptly.
• Advocates for patients and coordinates care with the interdisciplinary team.
• Administers medications and treatments per provider orders and nursing policy.
• Documents patient status, interventions, and discharge planning.
• Ensures patient safety and adherence to infection control protocols.
• Performs duties as assigned and supports staffing and unit operations.
