• Delivers high-quality care using the nursing process per policies and standards.
• Utilizes an age-appropriate, holistic approach for ED patients and families.
• Delegates and provides direction for other healthcare team members within the scope of practice.
• Applies critical thinking to develop nursing interventions with responsibility and accountability.
• Floats to other areas to assist in providing nursing support as needed.
• Assesses the needs of patients and families, providing teaching and making referrals for continuity of care.
• Assesses and tailors teaching strategies to age, culture, readiness to learn and comprehension.
• Assists in developing a plan of care for the patient.
• Consults appropriate resources when indicated.
• Provides written discharge instructions to ED patients including follow-up, medications and referrals.
• Demonstrates Clarke County Hospital Standards of Behaviors and adheres to policies and safety guidelines.
• Maintains regular, reliable attendance and current licenses/certifications.
• Practices HIPAA, DIA, DNV, OSHA, EMTALA and other regulatory guidelines.
• Completes all annual education and competency requirements.
• Demonstrates initiative to improve quality and customer service.
