Job summary

Los Angeles Community Hospital seeks an Emergency Department Registered Nurse to respond promptly to life-threatening and urgent conditions, monitor patients, and provide specialized care. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans for acute cases and ensure coordination across disciplines.

The role requires current CA RN licensure, BLS/ALS/PEDIATRIC ACLS, and ED experience.

Qualifications

Active, current California RN license.
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
AHA Basic Life Support.
English reading, writing and communication.
Ability to work variable shifts incl evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
One year ER experience or ED training incl EMTALA and ESI 5 within six months.
De-escalation certification at hire; SAMA certification on recertification.

Responsibilities

PROFESSIONAL CLINICAL PRACTICE: provide patient care, medications, monitors and ventilator management with evidence-based nursing practice.
PLAN OF CARE: develop goals, manage pain and communicate care plans and discharge planning.
COLLABORATION: coordinate with physicians and care team to ensure throughput and safety.
COMMUNICATION: show empathy, document interactions, and educate patients and families.
