Job summary

Hartford HealthCare's Backus Hospital Emergency Department is seeking an experienced RN to join a 42-bed unit, in a fast-paced, collaborative setting. The RN will provide patient-centered care under the Nurse Manager, using evidence-based practices and a plan of care to meet physical, emotional, spiritual and educational needs.

Requirements include 1 year of RN experience (BSN preferred), CT RN license, and BLS; ACLS/TNCC/PALS/CPI within 90 days.

Qualifications

• One year RN experience and/or completion of The William W. Backus Hospital Nurse Residency Program.
• BLS required; ACLS, TNCC, PALS, CPI certifications within 90 days of hire.
• Must obtain and maintain moderate sedation administration within 9 months of hire.
• Current unrestricted RN license in CT in good standing.
• Certified Emergency Nurse, Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse or NRP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in a patient-centered care model.
• Develop and implement a plan of care using the nursing process to meet patient needs.
• Provide care in a Level III Trauma Center with access to EPIC EMR and other technologies.
• Support a collaborative and growth-focused department culture.
