Job summary

Hartford HealthCare’s Emergency Department in Plainfield seeks a registered nurse to join a 12-bed, free-standing unit within Backus hospital’s ER. The role emphasizes patient-centered care, collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, and adherence to evidence-based practices and standards.

The ideal candidate will have BSN preferred, at least 1 year of critical care RN experience, and hold an active CT RN license.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of nursing; BSN preferred.
• One year critical care RN experience required.
• BLS required. Ability to obtain ACLS, TNCC, PALS, CPI within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to obtain and maintain administration of moderate sedation within 9 months of hire.
• Current unrestricted CT RN license in good standing.
• Certified Emergency Nurse, Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse or NRP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered nursing care under the Nurse Manager's supervision.
• Use nursing process to develop and implement plans of care reflecting standards of practice.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient care and high patient satisfaction.
