Job summary

Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, VA is seeking a Full Time Emergency Department Registered Nurse to join our acute care team. Shifts are 3:00pm–3:00am with 2 eight‑hour call shifts every six weeks.

The RN provides skilled nursing care using the nursing process, with a focus on critical thinking, safety, and patient education. BSN/MSN preferred; ACLS/PALS must be obtained within 1 year; BLS within 90 days; Virginia RN license required.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Virginia or multi-state license
• ACLS within 1 year of hire; PALS within 1 year; BLS within 90 days
• BSN or MSN preferred; Emergency Dept experience preferred (2 years)

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process.
• Meet standards of practice and performance.
• Coordinate care, educate patients and families; ensure safety and quality.
