Job summary

MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, IA, seeks a part-time Registered Nurse for a 12-hour evening shift. The role delivers patient care with the nursing process in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, maintaining professional nursing standards.

Responsibilities include assessing and planning care, guiding LPNs and CNAs, updating care plans, teaching patients and families, and participating in meetings.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing or graduate from an accredited RN program.
• Current RN licensure in Iowa required.
• BSN preferred.
• Experience in acute care preferred, one year preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses and evaluates the patient’s physical, psychosocial, environmental, spiritual, social and education needs and documents patient/family responses to nursing interventions.
• Develops and implements patient’s plan of care, including discharge planning, based on standards of nursing practice and patient needs.
• Guides and directs patient care activities for the patient population with clinical/critical thinking.
• Provides daily direction and guidance to Licensed Practical Nurse and Nurse Assistant.
• Provides, facilitates, and/or implements learning opportunities to meet educational needs of patient/family.
• Communicates pertinent patient changes to colleagues and multidisciplinary caregivers.
• Attends departmental/organizational meetings and supports staffing needs as needed.
