St. David’s North Austin Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with medical providers and the care team.

Qualifications

• RN license current and in good standing.
• ACLS, BCLS, and TNCC certifications or instructors required by specified timelines.
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Cour must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
• NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date.
• Associate or Bachelors degree in nursing is required.
• Minimum 1 year of emergency department experience.

Responsabilités

• Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Performs exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests. Strives to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, status, treatment plan, medications, and possible side effects; translates complex medical terminology for understanding.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as diet, exercise, disease prevention, and self-management.
