St. David’s North Austin Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department PRN role. The RN coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with physicians and care team members, following established nursing models and standards.

The role emphasizes pain assessment, timely interventions, documentation, and patient/family education. Candidates must meet ED experience requirements and obtain required certifications within stated timelines.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN (RN) with active licensure in Texas or eligible.
• 1 year ED experience required.
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Cour within 1 year of start date.
• NIH Stroke Scale within 60 days of start date.
• BCLS/ACLS/TNCC certifications or instructors within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

• Assess and manage patient pain; re-evaluate after interventions.
• Document care and interventions in the medical record.
• Provide patient/family education on conditions, plans, meds, and follow-up.
