Job summary

Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, IL is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. You will provide direct patient care following the nursing process and coordinate with physicians to ensure timely treatment. You will also educate patients and families and lead other nurses in delivering high-quality care.

The role requires a current RN license plus BLS, ALS, and PALS/ENPC (or ENPC). BSN is preferred. Schedule is days, 12-hour shifts; part-time status may apply.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ALS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC 60 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice in Telemetry and ED.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care.
• Communicate with the physician about changes in the patient’s condition and test results.
• Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality; comply with EMTALA and abuse reporting requirements.
