Job summary

The Registered Nurse at Prime Healthcare Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, IL, delivers safe patient care in the Emergency Department using the nursing process. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for telemetry patients while guiding and teaching patients and families and coordinating with the physician on changes in condition.

Requirements include a current state RN license, BLS, ALS, PALS/ENPC, and BSN preferred; many certifications are encouraged (CEN preferred).

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate on hire and maintain current.
• Current ALS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC 60 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• ECRN or MICN certificate required within 12 months of hire and maintained current.
• EDAP certified facilities: completion of required annual education.
• NRP certificate 90 days upon hire and maintained current.
• TNCC required within 12 months for trauma facilities; TNCC preferred for non-trauma.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process in Telemetry.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
• Communicate with physician about changes in patient condition and test results.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or treatment.
• Maintain EMTALA compliance and report abuse to appropriate agencies.
• Protect patient privacy and confidentiality.
