Job summary

JobDiva, Inc. seeks an Emergency Department RN for a 13-week contract in Charlotte, NC. 12-hour day shifts with 36 patient care hours weekly, including potential regional float assignments. This role requires ED experience and current RN licensure with BLS/ACLS/PALS and CPI; TNCC preferred.

Responsibilities include direct patient care in the ED, rhythm interpretation, and collaboration with physicians and support staff. Housing and travel logistics are managed through TalentBurst.

Qualifications

• RN with ED experience and relevant certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI) is required.
• TNCC is preferred for enhanced readiness.
• Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and manage critical care drips is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide ED patient care, including monitoring and interventions per physician orders.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and timely care.
• Support float between regions as assigned and maintain appropriate documentation in EPIC.

• 337 licensed beds
• No Trauma Designation
• Not a Teaching Hospital
• Chest Pain Center
• Stroke Center
• Radius rule: Traveler s permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit

Unit Information:

• Beds: 43
• 8 Clinical Decision beds – Behavioral Health (not locked)
• 4 additional on opposite side used for admins from FSED or holding patients
• Average Census: 145 patients on average per day

Minimum Years of Experience required: 2 years of ED exp
Will you accept a first-time traveler: No
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:

• General ED Population – Trauma stabilization to ship out, Respiratory illness, Stroke, Behavioral Health, Acute MI, Uncontrollable Diabetes, Minor trauma, etc.
• Ages served – Pediatric to Geriatric
• 25-30% Admission rate

Patient Ratios:

• RN: 1:3-4, based on acuity
• CNA: will serve as Unit Coordinator and assisting RN with patient cares, ratios varies

Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:

• RN:
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI (required)
• TNCC (preferred)

Skills required:

• RN: General ED Skillset to include but not limited to - Cardiac rhythm interpretation, experience with critical care drips, PIV starts, TNK/TPA administration, conscious sedation

Support within the Department:

• HCT/Unit Sec – 1:8-10
• Paramedic
• Charge nurse – free floating
• Patient Safety Attendants
• Pharmacist dedicated to ED – 7a to 11p
• Social Worker
• Scheduler
• RT 24/7
• ED Physicians APP; Geriatric APP
• Hospitalist, 24/7

Technology/Equipment:

• EMR: EPIC
• IV Pump: Alaris
• Med dispensing: Omnicell
• Monitors: Phillips
• Rover Communication; Panda Infant Warmer, LUCAS

Floating:

• Will be required to float per region needs – will require floating to all facilities listed below, as needed, within scope of practice – DECLINE if not agreeable
• Region 2 - Pineville, Anson, Union, Union West, any Freestanding ED within Region, Central Division (CMC Main CMC Mercy Levine Children s Hospital)
• If floating mid-shift, Traveler will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain on the clock)

• NEO
• 2 days departmental

Scheduling:

• Weekend rotation: every other
• Call requirement: no call
• Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays
• RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays – must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours
• Shift times: varies based on requisition
• 7a-7p, 9a-9p, 11a-11p, 3p-3a, 7p-7a
