Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas is seeking an ED Pharmacist to provide real-time pharmacotherapy expertise in a fast-paced ED environment. The role partners with emergency physicians to ensure safe medication use, supports rapid response, codes, and contributes to practice advancement.

Responsibilities include bedside pharmacotherapy, medication reconciliation, therapeutic interventions, and mentoring pharmacy learners in the ED setting, with opportunities to participate in cost-saving

Qualifications

• PGY1 and PGY2 from an ASHP-accredited residency program
• 5 years progressive clinical practice experience after PGY1
• PharmD or BS in science from ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy

Responsibilities

• Provides real-time pharmacotherapy in the ED with emergency medicine providers
• Assists with therapeutic monitoring and interpretation of lab values
• Participates in cost savings initiatives and formulary management
• Educates and mentors pharmacy learners in the ED
• Supports rapid response and codes, and ED care improvement efforts
