Job summary

Main Line Health is seeking a Staff Pharmacist to join the Emergency Department at Lankenau Medical Center. The pharmacist will interpret and evaluate medication orders, supervise technicians, and provide drug information to healthcare teams to optimize therapy and safe, timely administration. Requirements include a PharmD or B.S.

in Pharmacy, Pennsylvania licensure, and prior hospital experience. Shift is 10 hours (12:30pm–11pm) with tuition reimbursement eligibility and generous PTO and

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of pharmacy is required.
• Clinical clerkships, residencies and hospital-oriented training are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete admission medication reconciliations for patients being admitted.
• Review pharmacy technician reconciliations for accuracy and completeness.
• Respond to trauma activations, cardiac arrests, stroke alerts, and other critically ill or emergent patients.
• Prepare medications at the bedside for critically ill patients or coordinate timely retrieval from the central pharmacy.
• Provide drug information and pharmacotherapy recommendations to nurses, physicians, and advanced practice providers.

Being detail oriented & having the ability to communicate and educate healthcare providers and patients is essential to the Staff Pharmacist role. You will interpret and evaluate medication orders for patients of MLHS and consult with necessary healthcare professionals as necessary to optimize drug therapy. Use your leadership skills to supervise activities of Technicians to assure accurate compounding and dispensing of medications and timely drug administration. Support the healthcare team by providing drug information and guidance related to appropriate and cost effective drug therapy.

Position:

Staff Pharmacist

Shift:

10 hour shifts 12:30pm-11pm

Experience:

1. One year of work in hospital Pharmacy where IV admixtures, automated distribution functions, and clinical counseling were employed is preferred.

2. Work history with good to excellent record in organization, accuracy, quality and quantity of work and attendance is required.

Education:

1. Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy required.

2. Clinical clerkships, residencies and specialties in hospital-oriented environments preferred.

Licensures/Certifications:

A current Pennsylvania Pharmacist license required.

Recent graduates and pharmacists eligible for reciprocity will be considered as long as licensure is complete before the end of the 90-day probationary period.
