Job summary

Intermountain Health's St Vincent Regional Hospital in Billings, MT seeks a Patient Care Technician to support the care team in the Emergency Department. The role involves direct patient care, documentation, and collaboration with RNs to meet patient needs in a fast-paced setting.

Qualified candidates hold Montana CNA and BLS credentials, demonstrate strong communication skills, and are comfortable with computer systems and basic clinical tasks.

Qualifications

• Current Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) in the state of Montana.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
• Demonstrated basic computer literacy skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver basic patient care tasks such as toileting, bathing, linen changes, hydration, ambulation, comfort measures, and responding to patient/family requests.
• Report and document patient care findings promptly; communicate changes in patient condition to the team.
• May perform telemetry duties and function as a health unit coordinator when needed.
• Transport medications to the RN as required on the clinical unit.
• Collaborate with the RN and interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient care.
• Answer phones, transcribe orders, manage unit records, and maintain supplies as needed (as applicable).
• Implement delegated care plans and perform duties within scope of practice.
