Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in registration or healthcare clerical work preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Completes timely and accurate ED patient registrations with demographics and insurance data.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and benefits at time of service.
• Obtain signatures for consent and HIPAA documents.
• Collects co-pays and balances when appropriate.
• Greets patients and families with professionalism and empathy.
• Escalates issues to leadership as needed and ensures EMTALA/HIPAA compliance.
