Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Wisconsin seeks an Emergency Department Paramedic to join our care team. You will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality emergency care, support patient throughput, and ensure a positive patient experience from arrival through discharge.

Qualifications

• Registered with the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) and must maintain active status.
• Must hold and maintain a State of Wisconsin Paramedic License.
• Current ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications required and maintained.
• 2 years' experience providing emergency care in pre-hospital or hospital settings.
• Ability to work in mass casualty events.
• Proficient use of office tech and medical software/electronic records.

Responsibilities

• Assists ED staff with direct/indirect patient care within nursing scope under supervision.
• Initiates and provides care within legal scope of practice.
• Treats pediatric, adult, and geriatric emergencies across conditions.
• Performs advanced procedures including intubation and medication administration.
• Collaborates with nurses, physicians, respiratory therapists, and technicians.
• Monitors and reassesses patients throughout the ED stay.
• Performs delegated tasks to support nursing practice in the ED model.
• Manages multiple patients and supports throughput/triage.
• Assists with EKGs, IV access, medications, and diagnostic tests.
• Provides care in a structured environment with access to imaging/lab resources.
