Riverview Health in Carmel, IN, seeks an experienced Paramedic to support the Emergency Department. Responsibilities include patient transport, vital signs, phlebotomy, wound care, and implementing lifesaving measures per physician direction.

You will collaborate with RNs and physicians, assess and communicate patient status, and participate in rapid response activities and routine clinical procedures. Certification and ongoing training are required.

Qualifications

• State certified EMT-P course completion EMT-P Certification, State of Indiana.
• ACLS and PALS must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Competencies for routine clinical tests and procedures within one year.

Responsabilités

• Collects and conveys information to RN and physician regarding patient health status.
• Initiates emergent care within scope and under RN supervision.
• Assists ED patients and outpatients to maintain patient flow.
• Assists into gown, takes vital signs, records inputs/outputs, and attaches monitors.
• Initiates lifesaving measures as needed (airway, ventilation, hemorrhage control).
• Stabilizes and extricates injured patients, transports as directed.
• Cleans and dresses wounds; assists with procedures.
• Performs phlebotomy, basic lab tests, EKGs and splinting; manages IVs.
• Maintains department by reporting issues, stocking rooms, answering phones.
• May administer limited medications per attending physician after certification.
• Other duties as assigned.
