Job summary

Required EMT-P certification (Indiana), ACLS/PALS, BLS, and ability to perform phlebotomy, IVs, EKGs, and patient transport. Experience preferred, ACLS/PALS within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

• EMT-Paramedic certification required (Indiana).
• ACLS and PALS required or obtained within 6 months.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Collects and conveys information to RN and physician regarding patient status.
• Initiates emergent or appropriate care under RN supervision.
• Assists with patient flow in the Emergency Department.
• Takes vital signs and records I/O; applies oxygen and monitors cardiac status.
• Performs lifesaving measures as needed (airway, ventilation, hemorrhage control, chest compressions).
• Stabilizes and extricates injured patients; transports as directed.
• Performs phlebotomy, basic laboratory tests, wound cultures, Point of Care testing, EKGs; manages IVs.
