Banner Health is seeking a paramedic to provide patient care in the Emergency Department. Responsibilities include patient exams setup, stocking supplies, and assisting RNs and providers. The role requires night?

weekend rotations and a 36-hour week with a 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM shift and a $1.50/hour weekend differential where applicable. The facility is a Level II trauma center with extensive services in northern Colorado.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
• Must possess a current and valid Paramedic certification or license within the state of practice and maintenance thereafter.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification is required.
• PALS is required if working in the Emergency Department or with Pediatric population.
• Moderate experience typically gained through 2-4 years relevant work experience OR 12-18 months in an educational program.

Responsabilités

• Evaluates acuity level of patients and insures appropriate matching of patients care needs to unit and hospital resources.
• Performs basic patient care within scope of training: positioning, transportation, phlebotomy, ECGs, spinal precautions; administers or monitors medications as ordered.
• Performs cardio-vascular monitoring and management.
• Performs airway management including oxygen, suctioning, ventilation support, and monitoring.
• Participates in resuscitation of critical patients and monitors progress.
• Performs other duties as assigned based on competency and training.
• Notifies charge/primary nurse and physician of status changes and updates.
• Documents assessments and care plans in unit documentation; records discharge plans.
• Interacts with staff across departments, physicians, patients, and external contacts.
