NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk is seeking a Physician Assistant for the Emergency Department. The PA works under physician supervision, delivering in-house care to inpatients and outpatients, including triage and ED procedures.

The role emphasizes patient assessment, documentation, and teamwork within a multidisciplinary ED team. Strong communication and clinical skills are essential for high-quality, efficient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a PA program accredited by The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (or its predecessor).
• Current NCCPA certification.
• Current New York State license as a Registered Physician Assistant.
• Basic Life Support Certification (American Heart Association).
• Preferred: Advanced Life Support (ACLS, PALS) or NRP depending on privileges.

Responsabilités

• Introduce self as a physician assistant.
• Perform initial assessment/history and physical examination.
• Order and interpret tests (lab, radiology, ECG) per patient need.
• Document care in the chart per hospital policy.
• Formulate diagnoses and treatment plans; consult with physician as needed.
• Triages patients in the ED; reassesses and manages care.
• Provide emergency medical care following standards; observe sterile technique.
• Document procedures, education, and test results accurately.
