Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn seeks a Physician Assistant for Emergency Medicine with 1 year of experience. The PA will deliver direct patient care in the ED, support subspecialties, and follow established protocols. Collaboration with physicians, nurses, and staff is essential for patient safety and care quality.

Minimum qualifications include NYS PA licensure, DEA, and BLS. Preferred ACLS/PALS and additional certifications may be required by privileges.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
Currently Licensed as a Physician Assistant in the State of New York.
DEA Certificate required.
Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

Provide direct care to patients within the delineated privileges and departmental goals.
Perform diagnostic assessments and physical examinations, with age-appropriate considerations.
Document encounters, treatment, patient teaching, and follow-up referrals.
Evaluate and manage critically ill patients and perform emergency life-saving procedures when needed.
Participate in rounds with attending staff and housestaff, and collaborate with healthcare teams.
May be on call during non-working hours to assist attendings in urgent situations.
