Job summary

Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, IL is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse to support the Emergency Department with a 10-hour per week schedule from 1900 to 0500. The role requires RN licensure in the state and a BSN or related degree with relevant acute care nursing experience.

Responsible for directing staff, patient care coordination, and ensuring safe, quality outcomes. Expect involvement in HR activities, staffing oversight, and collaboration with the department leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Health Related Field; or Associate Degree and enrolled in BSN program within 2 years of hire and complete BSN degree within 5 years
• Typically requires 3 years of experience in clinical nursing within an acute care setting

Responsibilities

• Provides work direction to clinical and support staff for coordinating resources and patient flow.
• Supports direct patient care using nursing process to deliver safe, quality care; may perform daily patient rounds.
• Coordinates needs of patient care team and promotes communication among patients, families, and staff.
• Acts as a resource, providing training, day-to-day direction, and guidance with unit leadership.
• Assists with HR responsibilities including interviewing, selection, and addressing employee concerns.
• Monitors staffing levels and adjusts to maintain productivity in assigned areas.
• Ensures quality of care and compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory bodies.
• Contributes to budgeting and ensures supplies and equipment are adequate for safe care.
• Collaborates with management to develop programs; coordinates vendor in-services and trials where applicable.
• Makes sure care is age-appropriate and consistent with department standards.

Education
