Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department on a per diem, on-site basis at Worcester, MA. Responsibilities include direct patient care using the nursing process, assessments, and discharge planning within a fast-paced ED setting.

The ideal candidate holds Massachusetts RN licensure with BLS; ACLS is preferred. BSN is highly preferred, with opportunity for growth and involvement in quality improvement initiatives within the department.

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration is required.
• BLS certification is required for RN, ACLS preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred; experience may substitute.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process for direct patient care from admission to discharge.
• Performs patient assessment and reassessment per standard procedures.
• Develops and coordinates care plans including discharge planning.
• Directs and supervises nursing staff within the assigned unit.
• Documents care consistently and accurately in the medical record.
• Administers medications and assists physicians with procedures as needed.
• Participates in performance improvement and quality initiatives.
