Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking an Emergency Department Registered Nurse for night shift across Mount Sinai Hospital sites. A minimum of one year of acute care RN experience is required, with preference for ED experience. The role involves comprehensive patient assessment, care planning, discharge teaching, and collaboration within a designated care team.

Applicants must hold a BSN or be in progress toward one, and maintain NY RN licensure. ACLS, BCLS, and PALS are encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required for Clinical RN positions.
• Current New York State RN license or willingness to obtain.
• One year of acute care RN experience required.
• Emergency Department experience preferred.
• ACLS, BCLS, PALS certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments based on interviews, exams, and records.
• Ensure progress is documented and reflected in care plans.
• Discharge planning aligned with patient status and inter-department communication.
• Educate patients based on readiness to learn.
• Support orientation of new staff as a preceptor and mentor.
• Collaborate with team to meet patient and unit needs.
