Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Suffolk in eastern Long Island seeks a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department, part-time night shift with alternating weekends. You will provide professional nursing care per physician plans, assess patients, implement treatments, document findings, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support patient and family well-being.

Qualifications include NYS RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, PALS or TNCC (within 12 months), and preferred ED or Critical Care experience.

Qualifications

• Two-year nursing program completed at an accredited school.
• Current NYS RN license and BLS certification.
• ACLS and PALS/TNCC certifications preferred or to be obtained.
• Ability to communicate clearly with patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial patient assessments and establish care plans.
• Coordinate with the care team and document nursing actions and outcomes.
• Ensure patient safety and provide discharge planning as needed.
• Educate patients and families about care plans and follow-up.
