Job summary

Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, CA seeks a Clinical Manager to lead day-to-day Emergency Department operations and staff. Responsibilities include supervising HR activities, addressing complaints, and guiding crisis response. Requires CA RN license, BSN, and 3+ years clinical leadership experience.

Certification in BLS/ACLS/PALS is required and ongoing. Expect active participation in safety, education, and departmental improvement initiatives within a high-paced ER setting.

Qualifications

• RN license required in California.
• BSN degree required.
• Minimum of 3 years’ clinical experience.
• BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications required and maintained.
• Must complete EKG testing within 30 days of hire.
• MICN within 6 months of hire; TNCC within 6 months; CPI within 3 months; NIHSS within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day shift operations in the Emergency Department.
• Manage unit-level human resources and staffing in a cost-effective manner.
• Investigate and resolve patient, visitor, staff, and physician complaints; advise management accordingly.
• Respond to crises and adjust workload and staffing as needed.
• Coordinate onboarding, orientation, and continuing education for staff.
• Schedule and supervise staff; ensure compliance with standards and policies.
• Promote patient safety, infection control, risk management, and departmental PI initiatives.
