Job summary

HSHS is seeking an Assistant Manager-Nursing for the Emergency Department in Springfield, IL. The role contributes to patient care quality, oversees nursing staff, and supports leadership in scheduling, workflows, and performance improvements.

The position requires RN licensure, with BSN preferred, and at least 2 years as staff RN with charge/lead nurse experience preferred. Night shifts include two 12-hour charges and two 8-hour admin days.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited and approved school of nursing accepted for licensure in the state of practice is required.
• Bachelor’s of science in nursing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee unit and staff; manage patient care and assignments.
• Handle hiring, transfers, performance improvement and rewards.
• Develop general workflows for department/unit and prepare timely operational reports.
• Administer proper protocols for department/unit and supervise the team.
• Collaborate with care team providers to ensure excellence in patient care.
