Job summary

Baystate Health's Emergency Department is seeking an Emergency Department Medic to join the adult care team in Springfield. The role covers direct patient care, mobility, transfers, phlebotomy, EKGs, procedures, and unit-based throughput improvements.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will support patient care, assist in exams, document in the EMR, and contribute to training and quality initiatives while maintaining safety and efficient patient flow in a fast-paced ED setting.

Qualifications

• Measures and records vital signs; reports deviations to RN/Physician.
• Assists with phlebotomy and related procedures.
• Performs or assists with EKGs and point-of-care testing.
• Documents treatments and activities in EMR per protocol.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department.
• Assist in exams and procedures; ensure patient safety and prep.
• Maintain throughput and assist with unit flow initiatives.
• Train staff and support competency materials as needed.
• Collaborate with care team to ensure effective communication and care.
