Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking an ED caregiver to join the Emergency Department team. The role includes assisting with triage, patient transport, and direct patient care under ED leadership. Requires CPR-Basic Rescue and ACLS certifications; experience in critical care is preferred. The position is non-exempt with variable shifts and potential signing bonus.

The team emphasizes professional standards and a patient-centered approach within a large health system in Central Massachusetts.

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience in care of patients with critical illness within the last 5 years.
• Ability to work well under stressful situations.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; effective oral and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Works in ED care team with physicians, PCAs, Secretaries and RN staff.
• Monitors patients for acute changes and communicates to primary RN or physician.
• Assists with procedures and patient care as requested by ED physician/RN.
• Establishes and maintains peripheral IV access.
• Obtains medical history and vitals; informs physician/RN of observations.
• Maintains assignment per ED flow/charge nurse.
• Supports ambulance triage and rapid assessments, offload as appropriate, and monitoring with care team.
