Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System in Omaha, NE is seeking a friendly Front Desk/Customer Service Associate for the Emergency Department. You will greet patients, visitors and staff, provide directions and support daily operations in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule: Saturdays and Sundays, 7:00am to 3:30pm. The role requires excellent communication, reliability, and ability to walk long distances within the facility. Prior patient service and basic medical terminology knowledge is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or with significant progress toward diploma.
• Previous customer service and medical terminology preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients, employees, and visitors in a professional manner to answer questions and guide them.
• Provides location information and directions for clinical services and departments.
• Coordinates with ED staff for patient transport and supports registration processes.
• Assists with general communications, including telephone messages and handouts.
• Supports training and sharing of information to improve admitting services.
